Rein KronenbergRein Kronenberg (1963) has been practising law since 1989 and is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar. After his graduation from Leiden University, Rein spent nine months in New York as an intern in the general corporate practice of a U.S. lawfirm, after which he worked in private practice as an associate at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, Stibbe and Clifford Chance in Amsterdam and London.

From 1997 – 2000, Rein was the general counsel of Randstad Holding nv and from 2007 – 2010 senior legal counsel for alternative investments at APG, the asset manager of ABP, the largest pension fund of the Netherlands and one of the world’s largest asset managers with approximately EURO 250 billion of assets under management.

Rein has a broad experience in corporate law and financial law, both as a transaction lawyer, and as a litigator. His background as an attorney in private practice, as general counsel of a Dutch mutlinational listed at the Amsterdam stock exchange, and as an inhouse counsel at a large institutional asset manager, means that Rein is very well aware of what a company expects from its external counsel and how to maximize value from external legal advice.

A no-nonsense, pragmatic and solution driven approach, based on a thorough analysis of the relevant facts and circumstances and a solid legal expertise, are characteristic for Kronenberglegal’s philosophy. As a result of his extensive international experience in cross border transactions and issues, Rein has developed a keen aptness and appreciation for the diferences in jurisdictions and cultures, which are essential to operate effectively in the international arena.
